SIP invites residents and visitors to enjoy a unique Spring Festival holiday featuring integration of traditional charm and modern urban quality.

Suzhou Yangcheng Peninsula Theme Park will launch the Spring Festival carnival with highlights day and night from February 15 to 23. Visitors will have chances to interact with over 1,000 non-player characters (NPCs) and watch breathtaking cyberpunk motorcycle stunt show in the daytime, and view immersive ancient-style show and amazing fireworks in the evening.

Over ten premium hotels in SIP have collaborated to present a Suzhou-style feast. They offer special packages including accommodation, reunion dinners, afternoon teas, buffets, gifts and Valentine’s Day specials.

Traditional dragon and lion dances will be staged at a number of sites such as Harmony Times Square and old Xietang Street on the first and fifth day of the first month on the Chinese lunar calendar and gifts will be distributed.

The art center at Harmony Times Square will transform into a traditional culture hub free to the public from Feb 19 to 23. Inheritors of traditional handicrafts such as embroidery, Kesi (a traditional silk tapestry weaving technique) and paper-cutting will showcase their skills on site. There will be also a lantern-themed event for the Lantern Festival.

The Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan is hosting a series of events for participants to learn about and experience ancient culinary traditions and games as well as land art.

The shopping spots and tourist destinations are holding diverse markets offering special festival goods and experiences.
