SIP held a copyright promotion event on Apr 23 to mark the World Intellectual Property Day which is observed annually on Apr 26 to promote the role of intellectual property in stimulating innovation and creativity.

At the event, the SIP Copyright Protection Alliance for Sports and Related Enterprises was established. The alliance brings together the Publicity Department of the CPC SIP Working Committee, SIP Enterprise Development Service Center, local copyright work stations, law firms and other companies to jointly promote proper use and value realization of copyrights concerning sports events and sports-related products. It aims to create a sound copyright protection and operation ecosystem for the sports industry.

The event also included introductions to the development of the sports sector in SIP and related copyright policies.

Two experts delivered insightful presentations. One shared legal strategies on shifting from rights protection to asset operations, while the other gave a talk on digital sports copyright protection in the context of new forms of business.
