In late May, the Nationwide Alliance of Art-house Cinemas initiated an exhibition themed “Timeless Love”, bringing a list of classic Chinese and foreign romance movies to audiences in 27 cities nationwide simultaneously. Suzhou Arts Cineplex, located in Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre in SIP, is the only participating cinema in Suzhou. It has fully opened its ticket sales channels for this event.

The exhibition features four thematic units, showcasing 16 movies spanning a century of filmmaking and bridging Eastern and Western aesthetics. From the subtle charm of Chinese romance to the passionate expressions of the West, and from youthful infatuation to the depth of mature love, the selection offers a comprehensive exploration of diverse portrayals of love on screen. The lineup includes both enduring old classics and highly acclaimed new releases, with several old films remastered in 4K resolution.

Suzhou Arts Cineplex has created an immersive photo-worthy space and is offering a variety of exclusive gifts for moviegoers, including commemorative ticket stubs, custom posters and themed stamps. Additionally, it has arranged several post-screening sharing and discussion sessions, with professional filmmakers, movie critics and other guests analyzing cinematic language and interpreting the movies’ concepts and aesthetic ideas.
