The 2026 Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race Training Open Day was held in SIP on May 15, amidst the rhythmic drums and synchronized chants from the boats in training on Xietang River.

The 2026 Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race is set to kick off at Moon Harbor on June 20, when 85 teams comprising 1,800 people will compete in the 300-meter straightaway races in different groups.

Among the teams are four composed of expatriates from 13 countries such as France, Germany and the United States.

Good news was announced at the event that the Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race has established a friendly relationship with the international dragon boat festival in Paris, France, following its increasingly enhanced ties with the dragon boat race on the Danube in Vienna, Austria.

It is worth mentioning that 16 teams of teenagers from Suzhou’s public schools, private schools and dragon boat clubs will compete in the U12 and U17 groups.
